Studio vs In-Home Newborn Sessions in Eastern Oklahoma
Welcoming Your Little Miracle
I know how hard it can be to choose between having your newborn session done in a studio or in your home. From the style choices to how comfortable everything is. I hope this blog helps you make an informed decision that is best for your family.
With Miracle Kisses Photography, both posed and lifestyle newborn sessions can happen in either space, it’s about finding the right fit for your family and vision.
My studio is equipped with a bedroom set for those sweet lifestyle moments. And I happily bring everything we need for those super cute curated posed baby only images in your home.
What to Expect from a Studio Newborn Session in Muldrow
When you come to the studio for your newborn session, everything is taken care of for you. I work hard to maintain a clean environment that is both warm and safe for your new baby as well as any siblings.
You will find a sweet little place for older siblings to play while they are not in front of the camera as well as seating for parents to be close and watch or farther away to enjoy a little rest time.
My newborn studio also has the space to create numerous setups for a more seamless and flowing session with family and on their own.
While studio newborn sessions lean a bit more toward classic, posed and wrapped images; I do always plan for more lifestyle and sentimental, relaxed family images. This creates the best of both worlds session experience.
What to Expect from an In-Home Newborn Session
In home newborn sessions on the other hand, may lean a bit more toward those lifestyle, authentic moments, but I do still bring a curated set of props and accessories for those sweet posed images as well.
If you would like images with your actual nursery or home décor, or if you have pets you would like to include, an in home session makes the most sense. I will then use natural light to walk through your home and document those memories you are creating in real time.
Posed vs Lifestyle. What is the Difference
Posed:
Posed images are often wrapped or in cute little vessels that emphasize your baby in a super cute way. This can be more timeless and simpler with a plain background and simple wrap. Or I love to create a set with stylized props to create a full scene with your baby as the focus.
Lifestyle:
Lifestyle images are more about documenting the moment. I love lifestyle posing for the family part of your newborn session. It allows for those precious moments to play out, like your first baby gently kissing your new baby on the head or everyone looking at each other all snuggled up on a bed to show the connection in your family.
Hybrid:
Newborn sessions with me, include both. I will both posed sets and lifestyle images so you get both the baby led artistry and an emotional connection to your images.
Always baby led:
As a baby led photographer, I let your baby gently guide the session. When they need to eat or be changed, we take the break. When they prefer their back over their belly, I pose more in ways that are more on their back.
It is always my goal to create images where your baby is actually comfortable in their body and their pose. I prioritize soft fabrics and natural poses your baby can easily look content in so that feeling can resonate in your photographs.
Which Session Type Is Right for You?
Ask yourself:
Do I want more posed images or lifestyle?
Do I want more family images or baby only focus?
Do I have any windows or doors we can pose near?
Do I want to include a specific room or pet?
Am I willing to turn my heat up even on warm days?
Am I going to be able to travel postpartum?
Miracle Kisses Photography Bridges Both Worlds
I am happy to talk through this decision and help decide which will be the best option for your family and the overall feel of the session you are dreaming about. Either choice, your images will be full of heart and comfort.
